Over the course of 20 years, John Hofmann has established himself as an industry leader in real estate finance. As KeyBank’s senior vice president, he is responsible for leading the capital markets team. Additionally, John Hofmann champions diversity and inclusion in the company’s talent acquisition and development process.

Before joining KeyBank, Mr. Hofmann served as managing director at The Private Bank and The Carlton Group. During his time at the latter, he opened the East Coast firm’s Chicago office, introducing its operations to the Midwest real estate sector. Similarly, he established a Midwestern office for the commercial real estate group, Nomura Credit & Capital.

Mr. Hofmann has published articles in Globe Street, Bisnow, and Commercial Mortgage Alert. After studying finance at Miami University, he completed a commercial banking training program at LaSalle Bank. Later, he earned an MBA from Northwestern University.

Alongside his work life, Mr. Hofmann enjoys fishing and playing golf. He also dedicates his free time to his family and community. An associate board member of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago, he actively participates in community initiatives such as Cradle to Crayons events.
